February 3rd, 1959 was the day the music Died.

After performing on the night of February 2nd, 1959 at the Surf Ballroom in Clearlake, Iowa, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens died in a small plane that crashed in a cornfield just minutes after taking off. The Rock -n - Roll world was shocked and some say it has never recovered. The image to the left is a reproduction of the Original Event Advertisment that would have dressed the storefronts, bowling alleys, diners, cafe's, and telephone poles announcing this now famous Rock -n - Roll Winter Dance Party.
